Buying Account Assistant – ZenithOptimedia Toronto
The Buying Account Assistant must be able to work in a high paced environment be flexible and able to work well under tight deadlines.
•Clearing discrepancies for all clients. resolving discrepancies, reaching out to vendors for missing invoices etc.
•Some of their duties are administrative and include organizing and filing client documentation such as client purchase authorizations, contracts and invoices.
•Assistants also will assist buying team members and help develop new ideas for client media plans – e.g. sourcing information, costings, avails etc..
•Set up new campaign estimates
•Set up new brand codes in alliance with accounting
•Input campaign purchases in DDS
•Call up related reports to check input
•Keep new campaigns up to date and process necessary corrections/revisions
in a timely fashion.
•Verify contracts from distributors
•Reconcile media invoicing
•Issue buying and billing reports - remove
•Contact stations in the case of billing problems
•Accept/decline changes/make goods from stations
•Prepare campaign activity charts by period
•Prepare BCR – summary of plan and actual spend by campaign - remove
•Prepare top line program highlights for client and Pre / Post analysis reporting
•Process requested research data
•Work with the buyer/manager to configure writers specific to the report type requested
•Minimum education requirement for assistant media planners is a college degree in advertising, communication studies, mass media, marketing or a related major.
•Students interested in pursuing a career in media planning usually work in internships with media or advertising agencies during college.
•Some Assistant media planning roles require at least one year of experience in traditional and/or interactive media.
•Knowledge of both online and offline is an asset, but not a requirement.
•Strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Execl and PowerPoint.
•Aditional knowledge of media planning tools (PMB/Clear Decisions, PMB/Fusion, PMB RTS, comScore, Prisma, AdBuyer) also an asset.
•Candidates must have organizational skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, creative and analytical.
•Highly motivated, self-starter, able to multi-task and work well under pressure
•Excellent oral and written communication skills are also highly desired for assistant media planning positions.
•Strong negotiation skills are also an asset.
